Question by kar: does my new Weber grill require lava rock?
This may sound like a stupid question, and maybe it is. I just purchased a new Weber q320 gas grill. It has been a long time since I have had a grill, but I thought that they required lava rock. I did not see anything in the manual stating anything about lava rock. Do the new grills not need it?

they would have supplied you with some if the grill required them. Older gas grills and certain brands do us them, my gas grill does not have any and it works perfectly fine. I have to different layers of gas lines that run through the grill – kind of like coils that get hot when the grill is turned on – similar to the purpose of lava rocks.
